I grew up in Inglewood in the 50′s-60′s. Used to love going down Hawthorne Blvd, it was a safe, wholesome place. Now it looks like part of Mexico, crap all over, broken down buildings, etc. Celebrate diversity.

I was born in Hawthorne and still live here. Things have changed for sure….it’s so sad to see what has happened to it. My dad grew up here also….we go way back here. There are lot’s of great memories for my family. Thanks for the memories!

I lived in Hawhorne …
I lived in Hawhorne from 4-18 (1956-1970). It was a fairly safe city back then but we did have a young girl raped and murdered, found in the hedges lining the Truro Avenue side of Eucalyptus Elementary (grades K-3 section). We lived 4 houses down from there. My stepfather chased off a peeping tom we saw (over our brick fence) watching our neighbor shower mid-day. So even then Hawthorne wasn’t THAT safe.
