can realtors show trhe house you rent any day of the week?

We rent, owner decides to sell,we have 4 months before lease is up,Can the Realtors show the house any day of the week?No matter if we want 4 of the days with out disturbance. ANY day, 3-4 times or more? While we are showering ,dressing for work??? Can people come in and take pictures even with my stuff in the house? I’m not giving permission to.

Most Realtor make every effort not to invade your privacy and waste your time. I know this may be inconvenient, but maybe the owner has no choice. They really shouldn’t take pictures, it’s rude. If the place were vacant that would be ok. You are typically notified by a phone call. They shouldn’t just show up and walk in. If they do, then you need to complain to the owner.

Your lease should state when and where the Landlord can come in! Usually any time with proper notice.

And NO he can’t show the house while you are in various states of Nakedness!!

I think it would be polite to arrange these things so that everyone is happy, but some landlords (and tenants for that matter) lack basic social skills so anything could happen.

Typically there are laws that govern these kinds of actions. It supports both sides. Very generally speaking, as long as there is communication about the guidelines of when and where, it is legal. Meaning, if the ‘landlord’ gives notice, you should have the right to respond with guidelines. Such as:
    a) Sure you can come in–anytime between 12p-4p.
    b) Tues-Sat between 10a-2p works for us!
    c) Tomorrow isn’t good for us, but Fri and Sat are after 10am.
    d) For next week’s touring availability, we welcome you on these days/times.
    e) For our privacy and safety, we request that no photos are to be taken in our home.

If you are able to show a willingness, and your desire is within what you agreed to in your contract, legally you should be fine making some requests or establishing guidelines.

Also, often there are tenant support services in major metro-areas. They guide tenants on the laws for situations like this. So if you try to work with the landlord to no avail, you may want to seek out these services (often free or very low cost) to give you ideas of where to go next.

    Good luck!

YES! There is no limit on what days of the week they can show the house, and you get no choice in the matter. The ONLY limitations here is that they MUST give your 24 hrs notice. Yes, it is legal to take pictures with your stuff in there. Do you expect them to wait untill it is empty and not be able to sell? It would be the same if you were selling your own house.

They do not have to get your permision for any of this – It is NOT your house!!!

Yes they can show the house 7 days a week as long as you are given 24 hours notice. Keep anything you don’t want seen in pictures because prospective buyers are allowed to take pictures They don’t need your permission for anything as long as you are given proper notice

the owner of the house signs the listing agreement. not you. so…don’t get "high and mighty" on us.

now, what USUALLY happens is they will put on the listing that someone is living in the home, so nobody should just barge on in, they can get a fine for that.

they will most likely put it in as a "call first" or "appointment only".

if someone is touring the house, YES they can take photos.

Realtors can show the house any day of the week as long as you get 24 hours notice. When they call, ask that you get a specific time. Buyers make appointments with realtors, not just show up at an office and say, "hey, show me that house." If you know what time they are coming, be showered and ready for work before they get there.

YEP, they can. Required to give 24 hours notice, reasonable notice and at reasonable times. For example 11pm or 2am would not be reasonable times. Have to work out something with LL if you want a day or two free of showings. READ your lease! You don’t have right to restrict when showings can occur, other than there must be adequate notice. Why would you shower when you know they’re showing the house? You have right to stay there, to be there during showings, if you want. You can request that photos not be taken.
